Church Description

Bible Christian Church was started in 1967 by a group of Jesus followers seeking authentic Bible-based teaching. Outreach has become a core part of who Bible Christian Church is. They focus on encouraging congregation members to invest and invite: invest in the people around you that God has placed in your life by building relationships and then invite them to church.

Brian Wilson is the Lead Pastor at Bible Christian Church. He came to the church in 2019 from Durham, NC. ​Bible Christian Church is an elder-led, staff-driven church, with the elder team providing accountability for the lead pastor on vision, strategy, and culture. The lead pastor oversees, communicates with, and collaborates with the other pastors, ministry leaders, and support staff members and serves as an elder.

Position Description

Bible Christian Church is looking for Worship Leader who is a builder that can step into the season they're in and propel them forward. The ideal candidate leads with an instrument and has a well-rounded understanding of all facets of the worship experience. This Worship Leader will oversee the entire worship experience at BCC, including the worship team, production, and other worship environments across the church (e.g., student worship).

The Worship Leader will report directly to the Executive Pastor while being accountable to the Lead Pastor. They will work with Lead Pastor to design and execute worship services that are excellent and engaging. They will serve as the primary worship leader for weekend services; recruit and develop worship and tech team members; and develop high-quality systems and processes that equip team members to serve with excellence, empower the implementation of the ministry's vision, and help build the culture of worship.

The Worship Leader will first and foremost be a spiritual leader above reproach (I Timothy 3). The number one responsibility of an effective and faithful pastor is godliness, humility, and integrity. Nothing gets in the way of faithful ministry within a church more than a leader compromising any of these responsibilities. As a result, a major part of this job description is to model the highest level of character, godliness through spiritual disciplines and serving others.

Primary Responsibilities:

• The Worship Leader will report directly to the Executive Pastor while being accountable to the Lead Pastor and will provide leadership in all areas of the worship experience.
• Work with Lead Pastor to design and execute worship services that are excellent and engaging.
• Serve as a primary worship leader for weekend services; preparing appropriate flow, transitions, click tracks, and creative elements; managing and updating plans in Planning Center Online.
• Actively participate in weekly creative planning meetings; prioritize the weekly evaluation of services.
• Prepare for and lead volunteer teams with vision and excitement including weekly rehearsals and other team gatherings.
• Recruit and develop worship and tech team members; lead the process of auditions, evaluations and follow-up with next steps.
• Develop high-quality systems and processes that equip team members to serve with excellence, empower the implementation of the ministry's vision, and help build the culture of worship.
• Care and maintenance worship ministry resources including spaces (worship center, office), equipment, and budget.
• Schedule teams a month in advance and songs two weeks in advance.
• Complete trimester Ministry Action Plan (MAP) with feedback from both the Executive Pastor and the Lead Pastor.
• Partner with the student pastor to raise up student worship teams and leaders.
• Ensure the worship center is prepared for weekend services.
• Any other responsibilities deemed necessary for carrying out the vision of Bible Christian Church.

Key Requirements:

• Growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and lives their life as an example to believers and non-believers alike, ensuring that their actions reflect honorably on Christ and the church. This includes publicly following and supporting the beliefs and practices of the church.
• Be fully engaged in at least one of the weekend worship services and visible in the lobby between services.
• Demonstrates a calling, gifting and extensive experience in leading worship.
• Excellent vocalist. Proficiency with a rhythm instrument is preferred.
• Highly relational and possess great people skills, with an orientation towards serving, empowering others, and building strong teams.
• Proactively performs high-quality, detailed work with minimum supervision within assigned deadlines and resources.
• Oriented towards developing and consistently improving scalable, high-quality systems and process for accomplishing goals and objections.
• Handles confidential matters with integrity and excellence and deals tactfully with church staff, members, and the general public.
