Situated along the winding roads of the Texas Hill Country of Austin sits a church on the side of a rocky ridge just outside the city that serves as a spiritual lighthouse on the hill. Austin Ridge Bible Church started with a handful of people as Westlake Bible Church. In 2004, Brad Thomas became the Lead Pastor of the then congregation of 300. With a heart and vision to reach the city, Austin Ridge has blossomed into a church with three campuses and over 4,000+ people in attendance each week. Looking forward to what’s next, they are preparing for the future as they have just built out and moved into a $56M campus expansion and new worship auditorium enabling them to continue to grow and reach the over 2 million people of Austin, plus the hundreds of families who move there each month.

The Bee Cave Worship Pastor will bring pastoral, missional, creative and relational leadership to the worship ministry at the Austin Ridge Bee Cave Campus. This is not only the largest location but also the broadcast campus where the weekend teaching streams from.

The worship and creative ministry at Austin Ridge is strong. The church is fortunate to have a very high-quality team of vocalists and instrumentalists who serve at a high level of excellence and proficiency. The feel of the weekend services puts much more focus on the content of the songs and leading the people in a distraction free and Biblically accurate way than seeking to create a high stimulation type of culture through production and technical resources that may be perceived as "flashy". While Ridge has just moved into a new state-of-the-art worship auditorium and has a vast amount of production equipment at their fingertips, they choose to leverage it in such a way that creates a modern yet inclusive and participative atmosphere where people's hearts and attention are drawn to the presence of Jesus and not just high impact technology.

The right leader will serve with a great sense of awareness and a shepherd's heart to lead the team and congregation into genuine and participative worship. They will lead through a creative lens that recognizes the culture they are living and serving in with an awareness of how to engage the heart of those who attend across cultural and generational lines. Their ability to incorporate current styles of worship and creativity into what Ridge is already doing is of high value. This leader will must possess the ability to "read the room" and pastor moments through exhorting/encouragement, speaking into moments as appropriate and leading the Church in more than just songs but a meaningful worship encounter.



It's important that Austin Ridge find a committed, invested, spiritual and creative leader who will build, train, develop, disciple and show genuine care for others in the worship ministry. Ridge desires a leader who is gifted to build teams and possesses a communication style that speaks life into people, bringing out the best in them. The right leader will be one who leads by influence and not merely position. This person will possess strong instrumental and vocal skills as well as a heart for God and active walk with Jesus.

Austin Ridge is eager for a dynamic, high-caliber, relational, organized yet creative leader who can lead leaders, create and implement systems for worship programming in a growing multisite church culture. Previous full-time experience in a multisite model would be desirable. This is an amazing place to grow, lead, stretch and experience synergy with a healthy team. Requirements


Primary Duties and Responsibilities



  • Create music that glorifies God and stretches artistically; that is excellent without being a performance
  • Help identify, develop, and multiply worship leaders, musicians, visual creatives
  • Build, encourage, and oversee the leaders and volunteers within the ministry
  • Develop and maintain budget for worship ministry
  • Plan the corporate worship moments with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness
  • Ensure that all the musical and technical aspects of the service advance the theme and vision
  • Oversee song selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting production (with PD), and coordination of all instrumentalists and vocalists
  • Lead worship in 40-45 services per year
  • Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship in weekly services
  • Organize and conduct worship ministry team meetings
  • Plan 2-3 major seasonal (Christmas/Easter) services per year. Services must be creative, worshipful celebrations that exalt Christ.
  • Build contacts and relationships with local musicians, studios, and musical organizations for both evangelistic and staffing purposes
  • Set and evaluate quarterly/annual goals for the worship ministry that are in line with church vision
  • Lead Ridge effort in songwriting

  • Meet the qualifications for an elder found in I Timothy and Titus.

  • Be a leader who can communicate a direction in a way that inspires those to join in the pursuit of that vision
  • Be a pastor who serves, not solely as a musical or performing arts director, but also as a shepherd to the people who serve in this ministry

  • Musically and vocally qualified
  • A pastoral heart for the spiritual formation of those in the congregation and the worship ministry
