VISIONARY, COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP

Beach Church is seeking out a strong, visionary leader who has the ability to develop leaders, cast vision and develop strategies that will promote growth within the Tech Department. The creative team is excited to head into the next chapter and eager to begin partnering with a leader.

This leader needs to have a passion for Jesus and lead their team to do the same. The staff is eager to partner with a new leader who is empowering and able to move them into this new season.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

The Technical Director needs to have a broad set of skills in a handful of creative areas. They need to be able to troubleshoot and lead the volunteer teams within the areas of audio, video, and lighting.

A particular focus will be given to video in the coming years. This will be a critical skill of the Technical Director. This past pandemic year saw the launch of the Beach Church Online Campus which continues to reach hundreds of people every week.

DISCIPLESHIP

Discipleship is a key role of this new leader. It's not enough to run sound and manage cameras or lighting. Within the Tech Department, this role will be about developing leaders and building teams. The volunteers in this area need a shepherd - someone who will foster a hard-working, organized culture and lead the team to love Jesus.

Doing ministry and performing tasks isn't enough. Empowering others to find their God-given potential is what it's all about.

SELF-LEADERSHIP

This leader must be organized and have the ability to lead themselves and their department. It won't be micro-managed. They will be trusted to make equipment recommendations & proposals, manage the weekend experience, and lead their team with excellence.

Beach Church is a fast-paced culture where hard work, experimentation, and collaboration is valued. It will be imperative for this person to be a self starter who gets things done.

Overview:

The Jax Beach Campus Technical Director will be a part of creating engaging environments within the Jax Beach Campus where people encounter Jesus through dynamic spiritual leadership of production and AVL.

  • Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provide overall leadership to the Technical Arts Ministry
  • Influence the overall tech culture - adults, youth, & kids ministry
  • Help establish and promote a collaborative culture
  • Oversee and maintain all technical and visual aspects of Jax Beach Campus worship spaces (audio, video, lighting, & Pro Presenter)
  • Partner with Worship Pastor to serve worship team with excellence
  • Collaborate with Beach Church Online Campus Director
  • Partner with Set Design Leader to execute the technical side of the vision for Jax Beach set design
  • Facilitate creativity by providing an ideas-oriented environment
  • Lead team at a realistic pace allowing for each other’s personal best
  • Shepherd the volunteer teams
  • Communicate with key people with clarity and in a timely manner
  • Deliver expectations of others in the creative process in a timely manner
  • Meet regularly with Worship Pastor and others involved in leadership relevant to worship services and special events

  • Other Responsibilities:



  • Recruit volunteers and build multiple teams with the capacity to fulfill the vision and dreams of ministry
  • Develop current tech volunteers to realize their God given potential
  • Develop strategic plans for the department in alignment with the overall church mission, vision, values and strategies
  • Oversee creation and implementation of the Tech budget

  • Reports to: Worship Pastor

    Compensation Package:



  • Total compensation negotiable based on experience and education
  • Entire package may be proportioned to accommodate the needs of person (salary, retirement, or health insurance)
