Coastal Community Church is a dynamic, growing, multi-site church in the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, area. The mission and vision of the church is to make it hard for people to go to hell by making it easy for them to go to Church so they can experience, know, and follow Jesus.

Reaching as many as 3500 on a weekend, Coastal Community Church is a highly diverse church. TJ and Shayla McCormick planted the church in 2009 and have been blown away by God’s favor and provision. The team is healthy and excited for what God has for the future of the church as they continue to live on mission where God has called them.


Job requirements

Coastal Community Church is looking for a gifted and called Student Pastor who has a desire to develop and disciple others. The Student Pastor gives leadership and direction to Coastal Youth (grades 7-12) and their families. The Student Pastor will come alongside parents, students, and volunteers to provide spiritual direction and Biblical counsel. He or she must be an engaging communicator and a recruiter and equipper of people. The pastor will need to resource parents to support them as parents disciple their students.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, invite, train, and empower leaders to be a part of the Student Ministry.
  • Serve as a primary student leader and communicator for the church.
  • During the week invest in the lives of students building relationships with them in the most effective way possible.
  • Schedule, book and follow up with supplemental student communicators in your absence.
  • Oversee Coastal Youth including: sound, lights and video through volunteers.
  • Act as the primary organizer of student Connect Groups for Middle and High School students.
  • Meet with key volunteers on a regular basis to evaluate Coastal Youth and Student Groups.
  • Schedule regular creative brainstorming meeting to gather input and ideas from various individuals about an upcoming services and events.
  • Participate in staff meetings, creative meetings, and leadership retreats to provide evaluation and feedback to the Leadership Team.
  • Communicate with student pastors and watch other student services to gain insight and develop ways to improve the effectiveness of the worship experience.
  • Grow the student ministry both numerically and spiritually.
  • Be available for campus pastoral care requests.

  • Should have at least 2-4 years related ministry experience.
