Discovery Church - Lighting Director

Discovery Church is a Word and Spirit church. There is a commitment to Biblical instruction with sensitivity to the Holy Spirit's activity. Discovery Church has brought a renewed focus to essential fundamentals of spiritual transformation through prayer, worship, fellowship, and the study of God’s word. God is doing a supernatural work at Discovery, evidenced throughout the church in each weekend service. The value of Unity in Diversity is on display as God continues to do miraculous things in the ministry of the church. The church is reaching people and demographics represented throughout the diverse communities of Central Florida.

Discovery Church is currently running approximately 4,000 people over three campuses. A record number of people are being baptized, and greater numbers are trusting God with their financial resources than any time in the history of the church. The church is in a season of greater impact both locally and globally.

Worship and Production are key ministries at Discovery. The church tries to equip the staff and volunteers with the tools required to honor the Lord with excellence. The broadcast campus seats up to 1,200 people and has a large LED wall to help craft dynamic worship environments every Sunday.

The Lighting Director serves as the point person for lighting technology, design and strategy across all campuses. This role partners with Campus Tech Leads and other staff to bring operational excellence and a worshipful atmosphere in every service. This role will also help train and develop volunteers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate lighting consoles for services at the Broadcast Campus as well as satellite campuses when necessary.
• Partner with Campus Tech Leads to train, recruit and develop volunteer lighting teams.
• Be familiar and manage staging and rigging systems at Broadcast campus.
• Troubleshoot & maintain lighting equipment.
• Work with the Worship Arts team to design worship backgrounds for both Stage LED wall & Campus screens.
• Assist in strategizing & design of staging elements & sets for all campuses.

• Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve. technical and creative needs in high pressure situations.
• Strong ability to meet deadlines in a short amount of time.
• Ability to work in both a team & solo environment.
• Ability to program & operate various lighting consoles.
• Ability to train volunteers.
