GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview:

The Worship Pastor at EC will be a visionary, hard-working, leader of leaders who is experienced in coaching teams and building a strong, dynamic worship ministry. The Worship Pastor is primarily responsible for leading and building the worship experience for our in-person and online church community. This role will also provide musical and technical leadership to pursue excellence for worship experiences. This role will contribute to the planning, organizing, and leading of any worship experiences throughout the week and the development of next gen worship teams.

  • Experience, Skills, & Abilities


  • 4 years full-time worship leading experience
  • a leader who is able to cultivate and reproduce other worship leaders
  • Able to come alongside the vision and current worship culture at EC, and execute that culture effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills that exude a positive attitude
  • Ability to self-motivate and make independent decisions
  • An exceedingly strong ability to effectively coach, equip, and pastor worship teams
  • A solid grasp of band dynamics, worship environment production, and ministry teamwork in a worship team setting
  • Secondary abilities that would be a plus: graphic support/youth worship band development/preaching/young adult ministry leadership
  • Experienced leading with keys and proficient on the guitar and/or other instruments
  • A Planning Center, Pro-presenter, and Ableton boss
  • Effective at multitasking, time management, and following up
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong spiritual maturity and yet teachable spirit
  • Exceptional talent vocally to lead a worship experience
  • Maintain composure during stressful situations
  • Commitment to hard work - possessing both teachable and coachable leadership traits
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both staff and volunteers

    To be effective in this role, you will:



  • Grow your team numerically - Create a system to recruit, train, and coach Worship Teams (Discover, Develop, Deploy)
  • Grow your team spiritually - Be a pastor to your teams
  • Own the church vision, mission, and strategy - Support the vision of the church and integrate it through worship ministry
  • Plan ahead - Develop a calendar for weekend and event worship planning
  • Create passionate, encouraging, & engaging worship sets for the weekend

    Compensation Package:


  • Total compensation negotiable based on experience and education
  • Entire package may be proportioned to accommodate the needs of person (salary, retirement, or health insurance)

    CHALLENGE & OPPORTUNITY

    VISIONARY LEADERSHIP

    Elevate Church is seeking out a strong, visionary leader who has the ability to develop leaders, cast vision and develop strategies that will promote growth within the Worship Department.

    The team already utilizes Planning Center, ProPresenter, and Ableton for clicks/tracks. This leader will need to step into the worship culture at Elevate and execute the vision at a high level. The Worship Pastor also needs to keep pace with what is happening in worship globally and help lead the ministry forward into best practices.

    DISCIPLE + DEVELOP

    Discipleship is a key role of this new leader. It's not enough to lead worship and be a musician. This role will be about developing leaders and fulfilling the vision of connecting people to God.

    The team at Elevate is currently made up of 30+ volunteers and staff who serve on the worship team. The volunteers are passionate, skilled, and have a heart to lead people in worship.

    Loving people, pastoring people, leading people to operate in their gifting is essential. Doing ministry isn't enough. Empowering others to find their God-given potential is what it's all about. That's why this role is Pastoral - tight execution and productivity is valued, but Elevate needs a spiritual leader that embodies the vision and pastors their team.

    SELF-LEADERSHIP

    This leader must be organized and have the ability to lead themselves and their department. While this role is collaborative, It won't be micro-managed. They will be trusted to make equipment recommendations & proposals, manage the weekend experience, and lead their team with excellence.

    Elevate has a staff culture of trust and empowerment. It will be imperative for this person to be a self starter who gets things done and is not “above” working in areas and projects outside of their job description.
