Grace Church has a passion for people and they are eagerly anticipating the addition of this strategic leader to their team. The Executive Director of Operations will need to not only be passionately committed to the direction of the church but also skilled in synergizing and synthesizing all operational resources towards what is in the best interests of the future of Grace Church. Grace is seeking an Executive Director who has the gifts, education, and experience necessary to oversee an organization as sophisticated as Grace Church. The right leader for this role will have executive-level competence in overseeing departments such as Finance, IT, HR, and Facilities.


Grace Church was started as a plant in 1991 by a church on the north side of Indianapolis. Grace started in a leased office building/warehouse in the northern suburbs of Indianapolis. Over 600 people gathered on the first Sunday and the church grew rapidly. In 1997, Grace moved to a permanent location on 146th Street and continued to grow. In the early 2000s, Saturday services were added. In 2008, the children and youth ministry spaces were expanded and a new auditorium was added to accommodate the continued growth. Over the past several years, Grace has opened a comprehensive Care Center and has been involved in planting several churches in the community, in the state of Indiana, and internationally.


Grace Church has recently navigated some very important theological, philosophical, and leadership transitions, including a very thorough and intentional succession of their founding senior pastor, a process which spanned almost a decade from the first conversation until June 1, 2020, when Pastor Barry Rodriguez fully assumed the role. Prior to the onset of COVID-19, Grace Church averaged 3,200 weekly congregants.

Requirements

Overview:

The Executive Director of Operations is responsible for the administrative and support functions of Grace Church, including finances, facilities, information technology, and human resources. Working with the Lead Team, the Executive Director of Operations will also develop strategies to care for and develop Grace Church’s givers.


Responsibilities


Lead Team


  • Serve as a member of the Lead Team
  • Provide oversight for the vision, philosophy, protocols, advocacy, and implementation
  • of Finances, Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities, and Resource Development at Grace Church


  • Operations


  • Supervise staff team through regular interactions including coaching, training, shepherding, and performance management
  • Encourage and supplement recruitment, practical development, leadership development, and shepherding of volunteers
  • Champion the effective use of church resources (financial, human, technical, and material) and advocate for administrative systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Research and communicate strategic trends and forecasts in finances, compliance, and business operations
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, records, and relationships to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regulating non-profit businesses including property, casualty, and liability insurance, legal counsel, and data/information security
  • Research and implement concepts and initiatives to expand financial generosity to Grace Church and effectively nurture established giving relationships.

  • Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or related field required
  • 5-10 years of progressively responsible business leadership experience
  • Proven experience in the following areas of skill:

    4. Leading Groups & Teams
