OVERVIEW

The Lighting Technician will be a part of a full production team at Faith Church overseeing all Lighting Production in a live broadcast environment. This person will assume ownership, oversight, and responsibility for all lighting systems at Faith Church.

The biggest part of this person's role will be the development of others. Faith Church is looking for someone who can pastor the lighting teams, and develop others to program and operate lighting at all of Faith Church's campuses. 

THIS PERSON WILL


  • LEAD | The Lighting volunteer teams at Faith Church — which includes all processes pertaining to volunteer onboarding, training, scheduling, communication, and off-boarding — while creating systems that best steward the emotional well-being and time-commitment of the volunteers



  • DIRECT | The Lighting Volunteer Team on the setup, execution, and breakdown of all things related to video for services and other ministries events. This includes cameras, shading, switching, recording, live streaming, etc. 



  • MAINTAIN | Current standards of operation, improve systems and execution of video production, and pioneer new ways for the video team to create meaningful ways for the congregation to experience Jesus through Lighting.



  • STEWARD | Faith Church's resources and equipment including the maintenance, inventory, upkeep of existing equipment, and upgrading and purchasing new equipment under the direction of the Production Director.

  • Knowledge of various lighting fixtures (Conventional, LED, Intelligent/Moving) and stay current on lighting designs and trends
  • Extensive experience in lighting production, either in touring or church production
  • Experience in teaching others to develop technical skills
  • Experience or willingness to learn production/technical skills that are not yet acquired
  • Experience in safe rigging practices
  • Organized, reliable, and demonstrating a great work ethic and integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, be flexible and work with little supervision

  • Grand MA 2
  • Grand MA 3
  • Vectorworks, WYZYG, Sketchup
  • Artnet & Streaming ACN Lighting Networks
  • Online Live Streaming Experience
  • Chauvet & Elation Lighting Fixtures
  • Lighting for Broadcast 
  • Touring or multisite church work is a plus

  • EMPLOYMENT STATUS / SCHEDULE


  • Full-time — salaried (exempt) position with paid time off, health benefits, and retirement.
  • The normal workweek is Monday through Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday - Sunday. (Off on Wednesdays & Friday's)
  • Collaborate with the Production Team to work on projects throughout the week. 
  • Lead Lighting team throughout the week for live and streaming services as well as a rehearsal on Thursday nights. 
  • Prepare for weekend services including programming lighting, confirming volunteers are scheduled, etc.

  • COMPENSATION

    The salary offered will be discussed in the first phone call and is based on the experience and ability of the candidate. 

    Reports to: Production Director

    Regularly Collaborates with: Production Director, Tech Director, Production Coordinator & Other Ministry Leaders throughout the Church.

  • Lead and train volunteer and contract lighting team, members 
  • Oversee lighting programming for all campuses at Faith Church
  • Replace yourself in all aspects of your job through the development of others
  • Setup, adjustment, and maintenance of lighting equipment for events and weekend services
  • Oversee system management for lighting gear owned by Faith Church

  • Recruit and train volunteers in lighting production for weekend services
  • Oversee onboarding (and off-boarding, when needed) of volunteers in collaboration with Production Director
  • Develop and oversee communication with the technical team
