Job description

For the right candidate, FBC Venice offers a place to grow as a pastor, leader, and musician. With a rich history of musical excellence, the new Worship Pastor will find many highly skilled volunteer musicians, as well as a deep bench of paid professionals to work with. Growing the choir, developing the orchestra, and working with children’s and youth choirs will be high priorities for the next leader. With a large population of retirees, the new Worship Pastor will place a high emphasis on creating ministry opportunities for both young and old. The right person will have a passion for recruiting volunteers, dreaming up new ministry initiatives, and reaching people in creative ways. Pastor Tom and the staff have a heart to reach the next generation and the new Worship Pastor will undoubtedly want to support this initiative through creative ministries to children and students. A passion for musical variety will be important, as worship experiences feature adult choirs, orchestras, children’s choirs, and more.

Being a multi-site church offers many exciting opportunities as well as challenges. Currently, the Worship Pastor will lead in both locations, working with the same band in both services. The vision is for the new Worship Pastor to develop creative ways to engage both volunteers and staff in leading worship with the desire to eventually have full-time staff for the Lakefront Church location. The right person will see this as an incredible opportunity to help a church build and rebuild, ministries to reach all generations. Knowing the future is young families, the church is poised and ready to invest ample time and resources into reaching new people at both the downtown and Lakefront Church locations.
