Job description

THE STORY OF ANTHEM COMMUNITY CHURCH

Anthem Community Church (ACC) is a thriving church located in Henderson, NV. Founded in 2011 as a church plant from Green Valley Baptist Church, they initially met in two different elementary schools before finally settling at their current location in 2018. Despite the challenges of COVID, their attendance records have been setting new heights in 2023, and they are now exploring the expansion of their campus to accommodate their growing community.

At ACC, they pride themselves on being a welcoming church where people feel right at home. Their community makes it incredibly difficult to come and go without being recognized, ensuring that everyone is valued and acknowledged.

The mission of ACC is to help people to Live the Truth of Jesus in Everyday Life.

The vision is to Grow to 1000 then plant. This means that we will prepare to plant a new church within our secondary market area when we reach an average Sunday attendance of 1000 people.

At ACC, they offer a range of programs and opportunities to help people Know God, Make Friends, and Add Value to the world around them. They are committed to providing a unique niche that focuses on these core values, and they invite individuals to join them as they continue to grow and impact their community for the better.

THE STUDENT MINISTRY

Anthem Community Church Student Ministries seek to create desired environments for those in middle school and high school. They focus on creating large group settings where all can feel welcomed and engaged. In addition they seek to move students into small group settings where students can grow in relationship with Jesus and friends while feeling known.

Sunday Gathering

The Student Ministry gathers as a large group on Sunday evenings from 5pm to 7pm. In addition to a meal together, the typical Sunday has a program flow that includeds hang out time, games, worship, a talk/message and small group breakout times. The atmosphere is very relaxed and is currently being led by the lay leadership team.

Life Together: Here and There

Anthem Community Church is equipped with ample resources to create a variety of environments where middle and high school students can be met by loving leaders and grow together in Christ and in relationship with one another. Through weekly programming, events, retreats, camps and missions, the ministry is committed to doing life together and the new Pastor/Director will be given much freedom with the Family Pastor to design/re-design the form and function for the growing group.

Biblically Relevant

Anthem leadership seeks to teach and model God's Word in relevant ways. Both large and small group settings take time in God's Word to discover what the Lord has said to His people. Anthem is known for their commitment to real and applicable teaching of the Bible.

CHALLENGE & OPPORTUNITY

TEAM PLAY AND TEAM PLAYER

The atmosphere within the Anthem staff and leadership is characterized as enjoyable and laid-back, yet it is also a driven environment. The incoming leader should be prepared to engage in laughter but must also possess the readiness and determination to work effectively.

The staff team is honest, organized and speak into each others ministry (in an encouraging/helpful manner).

The NextGen team at Anthem Community Church emphasizes collaboration, aiming to synchronize work schedules to promote shared in-office time. This approach fosters a sense of community among team members.

SOLID FOUNDATION

The Ministry possesses a strong foundation for expansion, not only with the existing middle and high school students (averaging 35-40 weekly, with a notable emphasis on the middle school demographic) but also with a growing kids ministry. The incoming leader should anticipate consistent growth, as the increasing elementary classes transition to the youth program each year.

The current population, particularly leaning toward younger students, should be viewed as an advantage for someone with forward-thinking perspectives entering the role. This presents an excellent opportunity to develop a program with enduring relationships for years to come.

The new Director will be entrusted with the task of building upon this solid foundation and continuing to invest relationally in leaders, families, and students. The goal is to perpetuate a culture that is both inviting and aligned with biblical relevance.

VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP

As Anthem Community Church experiences growth, it is crucial for the new Director/Pastor to establish a ministry structure capable of adapting to the church's growth. This involves recruiting, training, and sustaining the leadership team. ACC boasts a strong but compact group of volunteers eager to be equipped with effective tools to engage with students, support parents during the teen years, and empower students to exemplify love for Jesus and others. This dedicated core of leaders, mainly comprised of committed parents, is enthusiastic about joining forces with a forward-thinking and inspiring Youth Pastor/Director for collaborative leadership.
