North Coast Family Fellowship - Children's & Family Pastor

Job description

The Children's & Family Pastor will provide oversight and leadership to all ministry efforts for birth - 5th grade.  This will include recruiting volunteers for the ministry, development of volunteers and weekend programming, and direction for all events for families with children.. Responsibilities Include:

  Develop a Children’s Ministry that children will ask their parents to bring them back to each week.


  • Oversee Children’s Ministry – nursery through 5th grade.
  • Oversee all special Children’s Ministry events.
  • Oversee childcare and Children’s Ministry needs at various events.
  • Oversee mid-week NC Kids gatherings – (AWANA, classes, etc.)
  • Assure safety for children through background checks of volunteer staff and security systems.
  • Recruit, train, facilitate and retain healthy volunteer teams for all aspects of Children’s Ministry.
  • Provide, within the specified budget, the necessary resources for all teams to be successful.
  • Oversee the North Coast Preschool and staff.
  • Bring special talents and passions “to the table” enhancing the life and ministry of NCFF both for now and the future.


  • Requirements



  • Christ-like character, humble confidence, and pastoral maturity. Our desire is for the Children’s Pastor to be able to influence others toward godliness utilizing strong relational connectedness, team building, leadership and effective communication of God’s Word.
  • Appropriate educational training. A minimum of a ministry degree from an accredited Christian College that is both evangelical and theologically strong.
  • Positive ministry experience. NCFF is looking for a Children’s Pastor who is naturally and spiritually gifted having successfully demonstrated this gifting in previous ministry settings.
  • Ability to help foster a staff team environment and enhance team cohesiveness and productivity. This individual should be a self-starter and able to both receive direction and lead in providing competent direction to others.
  • Strong administrative capability coupled with demonstrable strength in verbal & written communication.
  • A work ethic of excellence (not perfectionism) coupled with a commitment toward giving the time that ministry requires to be done well. Possessing a solid ability to keep an overall balance in life so that ministry does not become all-consuming or detrimental to personal or family health. Work hard, play hard, laugh a lot, enjoy ministry & life, personally & professionally balanced.
  • Experience:



  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Prefer 2+ years experience in a church setting leading in an area within Children's Ministries.
