Pearlside Church - Assistant Technical Director

Job description

Pearlside launched in 1994 as Pastor Norman Nakanishi and his wife, Faye, followed God’s call to plant a life-giving church on the island of Oahu with a simple focus of LOVING GOD and LOVING PEOPLE.

Pearlside exists to honor God by reaching the unreached, making disciples, training leaders, and establishing churches. Their mission is simple as they help people KNOW God, FOLLOW God, DISCOVER Purpose, and MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Pearlside is a member of the Every Nation family of churches.

Since those simple beginnings in 1994 the Lord has blessed the ministry of Pearlside in every way to a growing community of over 4000 meeting on 5 different campuses around the island. Believers and “Pre-Christians” alike gather each weekend to engage the presence of Jesus in worship and strong Biblical teaching leading to practical life application. Even as this community continues to grow, the real story of Pearlside’s history is comprised of individual stories of lives who have been changed by the power of Jesus. Hundreds each year choose to surrender their lives to Christ, get baptized, and give sacrificially of their time, talents, and resources so that the character of Oahu will be shaped by those who boldly take the good news of Jesus beyond the borders of the Pearlside campuses. With many onramps for people to begin serving the specific needs of their community and the body of believers at Pearlside, this church continues to follow in the footsteps of Christ to make a Kingdom impact not only in their cities but around the world.

Pearlside is a staff-led church with an executive team of pastors/leaders who drive the mission forward. The executive team has served at Pearlside between 18-25 years. Pearlside does have a church board who provide guidance and help make decisions concerning the stewardship of financial resources. Church staff are viewed as pastors and shepherds of the ministries they are called to lead. They do so with high integrity, passion, excellence, and a desire to multiple themselves into others to do the same.  This Assistant Tech Director will bring leadership, vision, and creative influence to areas of live technical ministry including audio, video, lighting, scenic design and the integration of these systems across the organization. They will serve under the leadership of the Lead Tech Director, Tyler Moore.

Currently, Pearlside meets in 5 different locations across the island of Oahu offering many different weekly gatherings for students, adults and families alike. Each campus is led by a campus pastor and team of ministry leaders/pastors who collaborate each week yet are given freedom to create and lead their campus uniquely while maintaining the same overall mission.

Worship is Jesus-centered, dynamic, joy-filled, Spirit-led and high participation. The music team consists of 4-5 vocals and a 5-6 piece band who lead the congregation in worship likened to Elevation, Bethel, Hillsong, and original songs from the Every Nation Worship Movement.

The weekend gatherings embrace the use of creativity and leverage high impact A/V/L technology. The production team at the Main Campus utilizes vibrant lighting, HD video, IMAG, ProPresenter, in-ear monitoring, and a digital console. The overall purpose and feel of the weekend gatherings is to engage the believer in Jesus-centered worship while providing the unbeliever a venue in which they are exposed to the truth of God’s love and grace through the power of His Word and genuine community with others. The environment is dynamic, compelling, joy-filled and authentic.
