Cornerstone celebrated their 30 year anniversary in the summer of 2019. Originally planted by a handful of families who had formerly been a part of First Baptist Church Prescott, Cornerstone was launched as a church that focused on teaching the Bible and support of international missions. Cornerstone is a vibrant, welcoming, servant-led and celebrating community with committed leadership, strong Biblical and Gospel-centered teaching. They possess a deep desire for continued growth in authentic, theologically sound, heartfelt, excellent, and Christ-honoring worship. Cornerstone is a multi-generational church of 700 with a growing online presence of up to 200 each week.

Quality and creative student and children’s ministries are an important part of the Cornerstone experience providing the next generation an environment to develop in their walk with Jesus. The growth of healthy family ministries, spiritual development resources, and a strong network of small groups ensure that Cornerstone is a community whose influence, reach, and people growth is both deep and wide.



The successful candidate will have a passionate and active walk with Jesus Christ, a passion for leading worship, and the ability to effectively communicate both. Must seek excellence in musical leadership. Engage in creative, imaginative, vision-building leadership of the Worship Ministry. Have a pastoral heart, a teachable spirit, and dynamic leadership skills. Discern that their worship ministry is a calling from God, and be fully committed to making a difference in their community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the church’s pastoral staff reporting to the Executive Pastor.
  • Communicate with the Lead Pastor on a regular basis to discuss service and worship themes and maintain a trust-based working relationship.
  • Develop and maintain an annual plan that ensures continuous improvement and growth of the Worship Ministry.
  • Lead a team in the development and growth of a strong Worship Ministry fostering a sense of “doing life together,” and spiritual growth.
  • Lead an efficient, well-organized, and fun weekly Worship team rehearsal to work on music for the upcoming service, new music, arrangements and parts, and goals, with input from the group members.
  • Create and implement the use of click/multitracks into the live worship set. Ableton Live is preferred.
  • Meet regularly with the Worship Ministry Producer to plan worship service details, and provide oversight and direction to the Production side of the Worship Ministry.
  • Recruit and develop new members of the Worship Ministry.
  • Cooperate with the staff to enrich the worship ministry of the church and promote cooperative relationships among its many people in ministry.
  • Establish a creative planning team to design worship services and special creative elements. Assist in the development of an annual departmental budget and manage spending to budget.
  • Relates well to all kinds of people, builds effective relationships, communicates effectively both interpersonally and corporately.
  • Perform other pastoral duties as assigned.
  • Education and Experience

  • This position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a staff member in a worship ministry leadership capacity. Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in music or related field is preferred but not required. (Extensive ministry experience, in some cases, can be substituted.) The successful individual will have a proven track record of strong relationships and team building and will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic and ability to administrate as a department head. Having a working knowledge of Mac OS, Pro Presenter software, database (Planning Center Online), and social networking web applications is desirable.
