Title: WORSHIP PASTOR

The Worship Pastor’s main role is to develop and lead a reproducible Jesus-centered worship and prayer culture at Riverside Church. The Worship Pastor will shepherd the Body of Christ in worship, oversee the health and development of all worship leaders and musicians.

Reports to: Executive Pastor

To be successful at Riverside, staff must be experienced and fruitful in:

  • Leadership: shepherding and caring for leaders, leading and managing teams, recruiting and leading volunteers.
  • Discipleship: passionate about making disciples, especially through the ministries you oversee.
  • Communication: gifted communicator, comfortable in front of people, able to helpfully communicate the Bible and pastor the body.

  • MINISTRY DESCRIPTION

  • Develop, manage, and train worship teams for Sunday morning.
  • Oversee, develop, and shepherd Riverside volunteer worship leaders.
  • Oversee, train, and shepherd our musicians and creatives.
  • Oversee weekly worship services.
  • Partner with Lead Pastor Worship direction and Sunday planning.
  • In coordination with the 321 Team, organize each aspect of Riverside worship services.
  • Plan special services in coordination with other staff for Christmas Eve, Easter, Good Friday, Night of worship and prayer gatherings and other special services as needed.
  • Lead and influence our culture of prayer in collaboration with our prayer team.
  • Champion and support a culture of worship that places heavy emphasis on raising up the next generation.
  • Coach the Next Gen Worship Teams and support them in their growth.
  • Work on special projects for sound and production as needed in coordination with the AVL Director.
  • Oversee annual budget, annual goals, and quarterly goals for the worship ministry.
  • Job requirements

    • Minimum 3-5 years experience on full-time staff, preferably leading a worship ministry.
    • Personal passion for prayer, worship and discipleship.
    • Strong EQ and self-awareness, empathy toward others, and humility.
    • Able to lead and shepherd a team and provide group training.
    • Able to manage and mediate conflict.
    • Competent, light-hearted, and self-led.
    • Able to teach and communicate God’s Word and effectively.
    • Clear communication skills.
