Roseau Community Church - Worship Pastor

Pastor Jared Gustafson returned to Roseau to serve as the Associate Pastor from 2008 – 2013. In 2013, the church invited Jared to serve as their lead pastor. Since it’s simple beginnings almost 90 years ago the Lord has blessed the ministry of Roseau Community Church in every way to become a growing community of over 140. Believers and Seekers alike gather each week to experience a mix of traditional and contemporary worship, an inspiring message, outstanding children’s programs, and a welcoming community. They are an outward focused church, desiring that non-believers would see their need for Christ, choose to surrender their lives to Him, and as Christ leads, give sacrificially of their time, talents, and resources in the furtherance of the gospel. The character of Roseau and surrounding communities is being shaped by those who boldly take the good news of Jesus beyond the borders of the church. Roseau Community Church currently leads multiple outreach events to serve the community. For example, it has begun the Celebrate Recovery program to bring hope and restoration to those in the local jail as well as those in the community.

Worship Ministry Culture

Roseau Community Church’s previous worship pastor recently transitioned out to engage in a new ministry opportunity. The culture of the worship ministry team is moderately healthy but needs a life-giving, invested, spiritual and musical leader who will build, train, develop and disciple worshippers. Roseau Community Church desires a leader who is passionate about team building and possesses a communication style that speaks life into people, bringing out the best in them. This team needs to be deepened and strengthen both in number and in community. The right leader will be one who leads by influence and not merely position. This person will possess strong instrumental and vocal skills as well as a heart for God and active walk with Jesus. This person will lead with a sensitivity to the Spirit of God and awareness for “spiritual moments” and how to lead the congregation toward the Father in worship.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This leader will bring oversight, management, and visionary leadership to the Roseau Community Church Worship Ministry. They will serve as the primary worship leader for the weekend gathering and events while also raising up a team around them, having a desire to give leadership away. Their presence on stage and ability to engage the congregation in dynamic, joy-filled, Christ-exalting, Spirit-led worship with excellence will be a key component. Their leadership will influence the culture at Roseau Community Church which includes all aspects of worship programming and creative ministry. They will work very closely with Pastor Jared Gustafson in the growth and expansion of worship, creative and technical ministry opportunities as well as creative development for all Roseau Community Church gatherings and large events. 

Roseau Community Church is eager for a dynamic and creative leader who has a passion for building a worship community that is thriving, growing and healthy both on and off the stage. This person will be a ministry partner for Pastor Jared, connecting with his style, vision, creativity, philosophy of ministry and worship, and desire to engage believers and reach the lost. This is an amazing place to grow, lead, stretch and experience synergy with a healthy team and also be a part of seeing Northern Minnesota reached for Christ. Leadership and missional effectiveness are huge!

This new leader will lead by example and cultivate a positive spirit throughout the church family. They should represent Christ and His church well in the community at large. They should be a team player and follow the Biblical model of sacrifice by being willing to put the needs of others in front of their own. In all of their actions, they should be positive and supportive of the Mission, Values and Beliefs of Roseau Community Church.

SECONDARY ROLE: 

As a secondary role Roseau is open to this new leader working closely with either the Student Ministry team or the Children's Ministry Team. This new leader will give leadership, vision, and coaching to one of these teams. 

The student ministry meets Wednesday nights and has a solid group of students and leaders. 

The children's ministry meets Sunday mornings and has a great group of committed volunteers.
