OVERVIEW

The Video Technical Director will be a part of a full production team at The Crossing overseeing all Video Production in a live broadcast environment. This person will assume ownership, oversight, and responsibility for live video broadcast and video systems at The Crossing.

The Crossing is looking for someone that is eager to develop and train others while creating incredible live video broadcasts of weekend services at The Crossing.

THIS PERSON WILL


  • LEAD | The broadcast video volunteer teams at The Crossing — which includes all processes pertaining to volunteer onboarding, training, scheduling, communication, and off-boarding — while creating systems that best steward the emotional well-being and time-commitment of the volunteers



  • DIRECT | The Video Volunteer Team on the setup, execution, and breakdown of all things related to video for services and other ministries events including the artistic planning of weekend video. This includes cameras, shading, switching, recording, live streaming, etc.



  • MAINTAIN | Current standards of operation, improve systems and execution of video production, and pioneer new ways for the video team to create meaningful ways for the congregation to experience Jesus through live video.



  • STEWARD | The Crossing's resources and equipment including the maintenance, inventory, upkeep of existing equipment, and upgrading and purchasing new equipment under the direction of the Production Director.

  • SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Services & Event Production


  • Lead and train volunteer and contract video team members (switcher, shader, camera operator, etc.)
  • Video direct Sunday services and events
  • Video edit weekend service for upload and replay online
  • Setup, adjustment, and maintenance of video equipment for events and Sunday services
  • Work with Production Director and Lighting Designer to set camera angles and light looks for events and Sunday services
  • Oversee system management for video gear owned by The Crossing
  • Oversee all aspects of Online Broadcast Systems including making sure the Online Stream is operational for Sunday Services as well as other streamed events.
  • Film and edit all in service video content (welcome, offering, announcements)
  • Create excellent looking content through the use of live video throughout the week and weekend services.
  • Provide artistic direction to video shoots, and live video broadcasts throughout the week and weekend services.

  • Team Development


  • Recruit and train volunteers in video production for weekend services
  • Oversee onboarding (and off-boarding, when needed) of volunteers in collaboration with Production Director
  • Develop and oversee communication with the technical team

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, be flexible and work with little supervision

  • EMPLOYMENT STATUS / SCHEDULE


  • Full-time — salaried (exempt) position with paid time off, health benefits, and retirement.
  • The normal workweek is Tuesday through Friday and Sunday. (Off on Monday & Saturdays)
  • Collaborate with the Production Team to work on projects throughout the week.
  • Lead video team on the weekend for live and streaming services as well as a rehearsal on Thursday nights.
  • Prepare for weekend services including prepping content, confirming volunteers are scheduled, etc.

  • COMPENSATION

    Salary offered will be discussed in the first phone call and is based on the experience and ability of the candidate.

    Reports to: Brad Jenkins - Production Director

    Regularly Collaborates with: Production Director, Audio Director, Lighting Director & Other Ministry Leaders throughout the Church.


    Requirements


    The Crossing has an incredible production team, and the Video Technical Director will be given the freedom to build the live video broadcast team in their leadership. This position will also have an opportunity to work on the integration and design of a brand new video suite as well as a large broadcast camera upgrade shortly after coming on staff.


    The Crossing is looking for a collaborative leader that is excited to dive in and take full ownership of the video production ministry at The Crossing. This position is meant for a humble and teachable leader that works well in a large team consisting of other full-time production staff. The focus of this area will be working specifically in live video and creating and developing systems for live video broadcasts.


    This person needs to be calm under pressure, and be a great troubleshooter. The Video Technical Director will be responsible for developing people and training others to serve in the weekend Video Switching, Operating Cameras, Shading, etc... It will be crucial to the success of the role that this person can develop others to become great video volunteers to serve at The Crossing.
