Vale Church is a dynamic church birthed in Bloomington, Illinois. It is a church with 60+ year roots that has experienced explosive growth over the past six years. Vale Church is a church on the move. On an average weekend you will experience a welcoming environment, engaging teaching, and excellent worship. Since 2013 Vale Church has been making huge strides to reinvent and redefine itself within the community. It has seen tremendous growth, and dramatic impact on people’s lives.


The church is known in the community for its missional philosophy. The staff is young and eager. This church is doing what others will not do in their community to reach those others will not reach. They believe reaching their community goes beyond our 4 walls and actually means getting their hands dirty to reach our community. Vale Church partners with several Christian organizations in town to reach people in ways that alone Vale could not reach. It is not about making Vale’s name great, but about making Jesus known.

Vale Church is presenting one of the most exciting next level opportunities in the midwest. Pastor Ted Max and his team have built a culture of authenticity, integrity, honesty and a relentless commitment to pursuing Kingdom R.O.I. in all that they do. Their church is going to the next level in their home base of Bloomington-Normal, Illinois.

Vale has grown from 500 to over 3,000 in just the last six years and things don’t seem to be slowing down. The Connections Director/Pastor who is brought into this team is going to have a blast leading a world-class welcoming ministry that loves people "from the seat to the street".



The Connection Pastor/Director will provide strategic leadership for over guest experience during weekend services, assist with special events & create avenues for people to connect at Vale. The Connection Pastor/Director will provide vision and ideas relating to the overall “street to the seat” experience & better pathways to allow people to continue in next steps of faith.

Specific Responsibilities:

Create a welcoming & exciting environment for guests each weekend from the “street to the seat.”

  • Responsible for the outside and inside “vibe” of the campus as it relates to service themes and topics
  • Oversee the look and feel of the campus outdoor area, lobby, and meeting spaces
  • Oversees the experience from arrival to and departure from the campus including
  • signage, music, and aesthetics of space
  • Develop themes and special activities in conjunction with the campus team for
  • weekend services to draw the community
  • Execute baptism weekend experience

  • Team Development: Lead the weekend teams that welcome & assist guests.

  • Recruit, train, and develop weekend volunteers that lead our various hospitality
  • teams:
  • Parking Lot
  • Outside Greeters/Hosts
  • Lobby Greeters/Hosts
  • Ushers
  • Communion
  • Welcome Center
  • First Aid
  • Security
  • Create a culture of appreciation and ownership within each hospitality ministry team
  • Develop & maintain operating procedures for all teams
  • Establish and implement quality standards for all Weekend volunteers
  • Create a volunteer culture with a set of behaviors, terms, and values to ensure the optimal guest experience.
  • Ensure consistency in all systems and procedures each weekend.

  • Develop and manage departmental budget.

    Support the Campus wide events throughout the year.

    Weekend follow up and assimilation

  • Continue to develop, execute, evaluate and improve upon the assimilation strategy.
  • Weekly follow up with next step decisions & 1st time guest
  • Continue to develop, execute, evaluate and improve upon the follow up strategy.
